Senate has confirmed the appointment of Aminu Maida as the Executive vice chairman of Nigeria Communications Commission , NCC.
Maida was nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step in as the substantive executive vice chairman of the regulatory agency and his nomination was subsequently forwarded to the Senate for confirmation .
Senate ,last Tuesday, refered the nomination to it’s standing committee on Communications .
At its plenary Thursday, the Senate unanimously adopted the report of the standing committee which conducted the confirmation exercise .
While presenting it’s report , chairman of the Senate committee on Communications senator Aliyu Bilbis told his colleagues that the nominee exhibited character,competence and the right temperament to lead the NCC to break new grounds .
The committee also said the nomination followed the due process of law.
Senate therefore unanimously approved the report and confirmed Dr Aminu Maida as NCC executive vice chairman and commended President Tinubu for nominating competent people into offices
