From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

The Chairman assigned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to monitor the just concluded delegate election for the Zamfara state Chapter, Senator Umaru Tsauri, has said that consensus and zoning arrangements are better options for the party than going for primaries.

Tsauri dropped the hint yesterday in Gusau, Zamfara state capital when he led a committee for the election of national delegates in the fourteen local government areas of the state.

He said that rancor resulting from primary elections was capable of leading to the creation of obstacles that can pull back the party’s efforts towards victory, especially as the 2015 general is fast approaching.

He however expressed satisfaction with the level of unity within the PDP members in the state, urging them to ensure that the party wins all the elective seats in the 2015 general elections in the state.

Meanwhile, he told the teeming supporter of the PDP and other political parties that Zamfara is essentially a PDP state, regretting that internal crisis has always been a major obstacle derailing its opportunity of winning Governorship seat in the state since 1999.

He assured people of the state that the PDP will make sure that all internal problems are amicably dealt with, so as to pave way for victory come 2015.
