Senator representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Shehu Sani has visited and commiserated with the family of the slain pastor of the Nasara Baptist Church who was killed on Monday while his wife was abducted.
This is just as he promised to continue to support the family of the deceased and assist in ensuring that the four children he left behind continue their education without any hindrance, financial or otherwise.
It would be recalled that Pastor Hosea M. Akuchi was killed at about 1am of Monday at his residence in guguwa area of Rigasa in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state, and his wife Mrs Talatu Hosea abducted in the process.
Senator Sani who personally visited the family house of the late pastor in Kujama, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State where he was received by the mother and elder brother to the deceased lamented the spate of kidnapping and unwarranted killings in the state.
According to the senator, while condoling the family “ Killing a soul unwarrantedly is a crime and killing of a pastor is another worst crime against humanity and God and must be condemned by all and sundry.
“Kaduna now more than ever before has become a killing and kidnapping field, it is an embarrassment to the state and the country and government at all levels must rise up to the challenge of protecting her citizens.
“ I will take up this issue at the National Assembly (NASS) when we reconvened for deliberation and necessary actions, because the killers must be brought to book and prosecuted accordingly.
“ As a Senator under whose constituency this attack takes place, I will continue to do my very best to assist the family, particularly the children left behind, I will support their education,” he assured.
Responding, the deceased pastors elder brother Galadima Makeri and first daughter Helen Hosea commended the Senator for considering them worthy of commiserating with in their mourning moment.
In tears, they thanked him for the promised support for their family and prayed God to bless and reward him in return.
Meanwhile, the abducted wife of the deceased is yet to be released as her abductors are still demanding five million naira ransom.
