The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has described late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi a beacon of tolerance and national unity.
The statement, released by Prof. T.A. Muhammad-Baba, the National Publicity Secretary of ACF, was made available to the media in Kaduna.
According to the statement, She ikh Dahiru Bauchi was a highly respected, knowledgeable, and influential Islamic scholar.
As a prominent clergyman, he was a steadfast advocate for religious tolerance, national unity, and social cohesion.
It said he was vocal on matters of public policy, and promoted both religious and secular education, and consistently preached against extremism and fanaticism.
“Through these efforts, he garnered a substantial following.
“He held prominent positions in major religious organizations, including Jama’tul Nasril Islam (JNI), the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), and the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council (NIREC).
“The impact of his life was evident in the wave of tributes that followed his death. The Bauchi State Government declared a work-free day to allow citizens to attend his funeral, which was marked by a massive turnout in Bauchi. “
