President Goodluck Jonathan has handed portfolios to the recently confirmed ministers as the former Kano State Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, was handed the Ministry of Education portfolio while a chieftain of Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye will function as the Minister of State for Works.

The four new ministers were inaugurated yesterday morning at the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.

Shekarau, Adeyeye, Stephen Oru and Abdul Bulama, were confirmed by the Senate last week after the submission of their names by President Goodluck Jonathan for screening at the National Assembly.

While Oru is to head the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, while Bulama emerged as the Minister of Science and Technology.

President Jonathan during the inauguration of the ministers, also announced that the Minister of Works, Alhaji Bashir Yuguda, will now move to the Ministry of National Planning and also serve as the Minister of State for Finance.

He enjoined the new ministers to be responsive and be ready to work with other ministers to ensure further development of the country.

The then Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama, resigned to pursue his political ambition.
