Shema vs ex-ssg: CJ disqualifies self from trial

Katsina State Chief Judge, Justice Abdullahi Yusuf has disqualified himself from presiding over a case instituted by the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema against a former secretary to the state government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa.

Delivering judgement on an application filed by the counsel of the accused, Justice Yusuf noted that the accused has through an application raised an alarm over alleged concerns of the court doing justice to them.

According to him, the court had transferred the case to another court to continue the trial.

The former secretary to the state government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa was dragged to court by the state governor, Alhaji Inrahim Shehu Shema over alleged injurious falsehood.

The former SSG was alleged to have granted a media interview in which he allegedly accused the state government of misappropriation of funds in the state.
