Former Governor of Borno state, Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff has enjoined all APC stakeholders to ensure that the forthcoming nationwide ward’s congress of the party is conducted peacefully with a view for the party to wax stronger in the general elections come 2015.
Sheriff made the statement yesterday in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, while paying a condolence visit to the family of one of the national leaders of the party, Mr. Boss Mustapha, who lost his father recently.
“Let me use this opportunity to call on all our members and stakeholders in APC to ensure a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming ward congresses and our people should go and choose the people they like and the party will oblige their demands” he appealed.
He described the deceased as a fulfilled man saying that looking at Baba’s life and the family he left behind, people will appreciate his contribution to humanity because human being who Allah created do
not come to this life forever but the deceased had left a foot print on the sand of history.
“ Everybody has a life span that God gave him. But he has lived a life worth emulating and I am sure everybody will miss him. His family will find solace in God. The late man has fulfilled the mission. The family has to take solace in God because he fulfilled his mission and served humanity excellently well,” he said.
Asked for comment on media report of his disagreement with the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu he responded” I am here for condolence and I don’t think it is even right for me to talk about politics. I am only here to condole the family of my brother. Anything about politics should be left till you come to Abuja”.
