Stakeholders of Shiroro local government of Niger state have advised governor Abubakar Sani Bello to avoid lip service by ensuring the implementation of his directive for a committee to investigate the suspended chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Dauda Shukuba.
An elder of the council, Alhaji Awaisu Giwa Wana stated this while addressing journalists after their stakeholders meeting yesterday in Minna,
Awaisu Wana said that the state government can only come out clean if it means what it says in fighting corruption not aiding the menace by urgently setting up the investigative committee to investigate the numerous allegations against the suspended chairman and come up with report.
He further reminded Governor Abubakar Sani Bello that the directive given to Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice to constitute a committee to investigate allegation of financial recklessness levelled against the suspended Chairman of Shiroro local government council is yet to be constituted.
The leader of Shiroro stakeholders Alhaji Awaisu Giwa Wana who said they were aware of of efforts made by individual and groups including those from Shiroro and outside to frustrate the setting up of such committee however appealed to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to stamped his authority to ensure that the Committee becomes a reality.
According to him only the committee can either clear the suspended Chairman Suleiman Dauda Chukuba or confirm his involvement on the allegation of mismanagement of funds running into millions of naira.
Wana also urged the committee to investigate the where about of another over one hundred million naira ranging from lnternally Generated Revenue IGR monies inherited from Shiroro local government council corpers as well as security intervention funds recieved by the supended Chairman for one year.
