The Southern Kaduna Renaissance Front (SKRF) has expressed serious concerns regarding a recent article published by Privilege Magazine in Abuja, titled “Northern Christians Mobilize for Tinubu, Demand Senator Danjuma Laah’s Return to the Senate.”
The organization described the report as misleading, divisive, and a calculated attempt to exploit religious and regional identities for selfish political purposes.
In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Pastor Jerome Akyasa Waziri, the SKRF cautioned the Northern Christians Network for Sustainable Development (NCN-SD) against “dragging the sacred identity of Northern Christians into political manipulation or invoking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name for opportunistic reasons.”
The group questioned the credibility and motives of NCN-SD, stating that its call for Senator Laah’s return to the Senate is misguided and does not accurately reflect the aspirations of the Southern Kaduna people.
SKRF emphasized that Southern Kaduna is experiencing unprecedented collaboration and progress, thanks to the partnership between Senator Uba Sani and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, along with Katung’s positive working relationship with President Tinubu. The statement highlighted key transformational projects, such as the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, the Federal Medical Center in Kafanchan, and the Kafanchan–Madakiya–Madauchi Road, as evidence of this productive partnership.
The SKRF officially endorses Senator Katung as the legitimate representative and voice of the Southern Kaduna people in the National Assembly. The group praised Katung as a bridge-builder who aligns the region’s development priorities with national goals, resulting in measurable progress.
The Front condemned any attempts to weaponize religion or exploit the identity of Northern Christians for political gain, asserting that such tactics undermine unity, stability, and progress. The SKRF urged Christians and the broader Southern Kaduna community to remain vigilant and discerning in the face of misleading narratives.
