Sokoto assembly Applauds Kebbe LGA for transparency, accountability

– The Sokoto State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Local Governments, has commended Kebbe Local Government Area for its commitment to due process, accountability and proper financial management.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Sokoto by the Secretary of Kebbe Local Government, Hon. Shamsudeen Umar Maiakwai.
According to the statement, the commendation was given during an official engagement between the local government and the Assembly Committee held at the Mini Chamber of the House of Assembly.
The meeting deliberated on effective public administration, financial management, accountability, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and proper documentation and record-keeping.
“The committee commended Kebbe Local Government for its continued commitment to due process, proper financial records, accountability, and compliance with established rules and regulations,” the statement said.
It added that the committee, chaired by Hon. Mustapha Muhammad Doss, encouraged Kebbe LGA to sustain and further strengthen the standard, noting that its efforts provide a positive example for other local governments to emulate.
The statement listed the Kebbe delegation to include the Executive Chairman, Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi, the Local Government Secretary, Hon. Shamsudeen Umar Maiakwai, Director of Finance and Supply, Alhaji Tukur Aliyu Santurakin Gada, Planning Officer, Alhaji Hassan Muhammed Kebbe, and Chief Accountant, Alhaji Aminu Sarki Yaki Dogondaji.
It reaffirmed the council’s commitment to transparency, financial discipline, proper record-keeping and continuous improvement in public service delivery.
