Prof. Ala issued the warning while receiving the morning briefing at the Sultan Muhammad Maccido Institute of Qur’an and General Studies, Sokoto
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Ibrahim Iya, quoted the Commissioner as warning that any Principal found engaging in such unauthorized actions will face disciplinary measures.
The Commissioner explained that there are clearly established procedures and approvals required before any Junior Secondary School can be upgraded to a Senior Secondary School.
He, therefore, called on School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs), community leaders, and the public to take note the directive and ensure strict compliance.
In a related development, Prof. Ala had directed all Principals to re-engage their SS3 students in an academic extension programme aimed at preparing them for their forthcoming external examinations.
ccording to the directive, Principals are expected to organize the exercise by preparing a timetable starting from today, Friday, March 6, 2026. The programme will run daily from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
