Spate of political killings regrettable – Giwa-Amu

On the heels of the recent attack on the residence of the National Chairman of the opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, Odigie Oyegun and reported cases of unraveled political killings in Nigeria, Lagos Lawyer and Human Rights Activist Chief Gabriel- Giwa Amu has noted that it is a bad development.

He said that recent incident has further established the real essence of the change Nigerians in unison are demanding. “Insecurity no doubt is one of the failings of this government and no amount of hide and seek game the Jonathan administration dream of playing, change is on his way and has come to stay”

Fuming with anger ,Amu said the ruling party is a disaster, a complete failure, a disheartening catastrophe and deafening disgrace stressing that the party is a mere conglomeration of persons that has so encouraged corruption, persons who act with corruptible impunity yet hide under legislative impunity.

He bemoaned the current living standard of the average Nigerian whom he said have suffered untold hardship, poverty, pain and penury simply because of the misfortune of having irresponsible leadership in this country.

He counseled Nigerians to be awake to their civic responsibility of effecting this desired change this time around because the “time for that change hascome” noting that it behooves on them to make the right decision for change
