The Speaker House of Representatives Rt. Hon Abbas Tajuddeen donated a 10-seater Sharon bus to members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zaria Unit.
Presenting the award form to the Union in his Constituency office yesterday, the Chief Constituency Officer to the Speaker, Alhaji Isma’il Mohammed Yesc,o, said the donation is part of the speaker’s mission to work with Journalists for progress and cordial relationship.
He said the Speaker is very much concerned about how Journalists operate Zaria without an operational vehicle.
The Speaker hoped that the donation of the 10 Seater bus would allow the Journalists to accomplish their duties diligently
Responding on behalf of the NUJ Zaria Unit, Vice Chairman Sani Aliyu expressed their appreciation for the gesture by the Rt. Hon. Speaker Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen to the Journalists in Zaria.
He described the donation of the vehicle as the first of its kind, and for a long, the Zaria Journalists have been waiting for this wonderful moment.
Comrade Sani Aliyu said the Speaker has boosted their Morales to the challenges ahead in their day-to-day reporting.
The Union assured Mr. Speaker of their continuous coverage of his activities with full strength as 80 percent of our predicaments were solved in terms of logistics.
