Former director of sports in Katsina state, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad has called on President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to sack minister of sports, Dr. Tammy Danangogo over his alleged role on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) crisis.
Muhammad who made the call yesterday while briefing newsmen said the alleged glaring incompetence and interference of the minister in the NFF activities could destroy the progress of Nigeria football.
He said “it was this kind of crisis that destroyed Cameroonian and Ghanian football in the past. If care is not taken the illegal activities of the minister will harm the country’s football”.
Muhammad, who was also a grade one football referee, described the recent NFF election conducted by the minister as a sham, unconstitutional and a step which may attract CAF and FIFA sanctions.
Similarly, the former director noted that the proper thing to do before the election was to dissolve the outgoing executives and issue guidelines for the conduct of the election for interest parties to comply”.
