Abuja residents especially those living in the Satellite Towns have been implored to cultivate the habit of keeping their environment clean, by adhering to acceptable waste handling and disposal in the nation’s capital city.
Making this point recently, the Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), Hon. Ishaku Tanko Yamawo, cautioned that dirty environment can lead to outbreak of different diseases.
Yamawo called on all residents of the satellite towns to cooporate with the Department, by keeping their waste well into the roll- roll bins stationed at various strategic areas along the roads.
The Coordinator further explained that keeping environment clean and green is a collective responsibility of everyone especially those living in the satellite Towns.
According to him, everybody should take the charge as a matter of urgency, because going by the weather forecast, the heat will be much this year, which usually makes the environment very vulnerable to disease outbreak.
