Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III yesterday called on Muslim communities to embark upon establishment of media organisations, to serve as venue for communicating with Muslims and non-Muslim within and outside the country.
The Sultan was speaking recently, during the 20th anniversary of the Jama’atu Tajdidil Islamy sect, titled: ‘Insecurity and the way out’ in Gusau, Zamfara state capital, stressing the need for Muslim governors and well-to-do individuals across the nation to delve into establishment of both electronic and print media organisations. He challenged that the dearth of Muslim-controlled media outputs in
the country has contributed immensely towards absolute failure of the non-Muslim brothers to understand the progress Islam has made in pursuit of peaceful co-existence in the country.
The Sultan further called on Muslim communities to remain peace-loving as usual, as taught by the Holy Qur’an so as to allow security operatives to overcome security challenges that have bedevilled the country.
In his speech, the National President of the sect, Abubakar Muhammad Mujahid, stressed that Muslim communities across the world are faced with difficulties that comprised of attacks from super powers and highrate of poverty due to negligence of orders laid down by Almighty Allah.
