SURE-P: KDSG to recruit 2000 graduates

Kaduna State Government yesterday said arrangement has been completed to recruit 2000 graduates across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state for its Subsidy Re-investment programme ( SURE-P) programme.

According to the state government, the graduates would be sent to various ministries within the state to work for a year.

Addressing newsmen, State Deputy Governor who doubles as the Sure-P Chairman Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga said each of the selected graduate would receive 10,000 monthly in additional to Federal Government FG’s 30,000 naira.

He added that after their intensive training, they will be employed into the state civil service.

“2,000 graduates from Kaduna will be recruited and send to various ministries in the state. We intend to pay them 10,000 naira monthly in addition to the 30,000 naira given to them at the national level.

“After their one year training we intend to keep some of them that prove to be good by giving them employment in the state civil service. We need professionals like civil engineers among others in our ministries so we will ensure we recruit such individuals into the SURE-P programme,” he said.

The Deputy governor assured that at the end of their intensive training no graduate would be sent back to labour market.

He said the need to recruit the graduates emanated because there are civil servants that have reached retiring age and some have died hence the need for more hands to be employed.
