The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has picked Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto as his deputy governorship candidate for the 2015 election.
Aliyu was the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development before and presently oversees the state Ministry for Health as Commissioner.
A statement signed by the acting APC state chairman, Alhaji Usman Dan Madamin Isa and made available to journalists stated that the choice was made after due consultations with stakeholders.
“The All Progressive Congress has, in consultation with its gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other stakeholders, chosen Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu as running mate/deputy governor for the 2015 elections,” the statement read in parts.
The party called on members and supporters to work assiduously for the success of the party.
