Tambuwal urges Nigerians to come together, rescue the nation

A leading presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor of Sokoto State, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has said that the current situation of things in the country requires the the collective resolve of all Nigerians, regardless of leanings, to rescue the nation.

Tambuwal, who spoke during an interactive meeting he held with the forum of former Ministers of Nigeria under the PDP on Wednesday night, insisted that Nigerians must collectively join hands together to save the ship of the nation from sinking.

The presidential aspirant, who had held series of interactive sessions with a wide segments of stakeholders within the party, equally said that the present state of Nigeria requires a leader who

understands the issues and who can assemble a team that can work  on the Nigerian project “for us to retrieve our country, for us reposition our country and for us to rebuild the country”.

According to him, “It behooves all of us, irrespective of whatever our leanings are, irrespective of where we’re coming from, to  rally round together to rescue our country. And it can only be done by the collective and  collectivity of all of us. 

“We must all come together to make sure that we rescue our country.

“But we can only do that, for us in PDP, if we’re able  to prove our processes and particularly our national convention throws up a candidate that understands all of these issues. A candidate that understands Nigeria”, he said.

Tambuwal, while declaring that the unity and coherence of Nigeria is the chief determining factor of his aspiration, says he has all it takes to govern the country, come next year.

The Sokoto State Governor and presidential aspirant declared, expressly stated that if Nigeria, in the coming dispensation, can not find a candidate that “understands Nigeria. candidate that has affiliation, associations, friendship across the length and breathe of this country and not only those friendship and associations, but also understands the issues and who can assemble a team that can work on the Nigerian project for us to retrieve our country for us reposition our country, for us to rebuild our country, then we  are not anywhere possibly better. 

“But we must all identify such a candidate and I believe that I possess those qualities .

“I started by my professional calling as a lawyer, I am.a member of the bencher,  the highest level of the legal profession of the country, live bencher for that matter. I served this country as member of the House of Representatives. 

“I became the speaker of this country’s 7th House of Representatives and serve this country for twelve uninterrupted years in the legislature.

“I believe that i understanding the issue of this country very well. I’m now serving as governor of Sokoto State , I am  in my second term”, he said.
