Taraba govt, Dangote donate food Items to alleviate hardship

The Taraba State government in collaboration with Aliko Dangote Foundation, on Saturday flagged off the distribution of 30,000 bags of 50kg maize and 15,000 bags of 10kg rice to the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.

Governor Agbu Kefas said during the distribution in Jalingo that, the initiative is part of the state’s efforts to ease the burden on citizens and ensure food security.

Represented by Hon. Sa’ad Sale, Chairman of the State Palliative Committee, Kefas emphasized that the distribution is aimed at ensuring food reaches every household across the state.

He stressed that the 30,000 bags of maize would be equitably distributed to all communities, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of Taraba people.

Speaking earlier, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Prof. Nicholas Namessan, described the initiative as timely and impactful, noting that it would significantly alleviate hardship among citizens.

Also in his address, the state ALGON Chairman, Hon. Moses Maihankali, expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas and Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the donation, and assured them that the items would be distributed fairly in order to reach every community and household.
