The Taraba State Government has directed all civil servants who were previously cleared for reinstatement by Governor Agbu Kefas to report to the State Civil Service Commission on Thursday, to collect their official employment forms.
The affected workers had been removed from the government payroll during a previous state-wide verification exercise aimed at eliminating ghost workers.
Following an official review, Governor Kefas approved their return to the civil service.
In a press release issued from Jalingo, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mr. David Nyah, emphasized that the reinstatement process requires strict personal verification.
To prevent fraud, the government has explicitly banned the use of representatives.
The Commission outlined the following mandatory conditions for the exercise
“All affected individuals must show up physically.
“No proxies, family members, or third-party delegations will be recognized or attended to.
“The Commission will not accept written applications or letters in place of a physical appearance.
“The distribution of the employment forms will officially kick off at 10:00 AM at the Civil Service Commission Headquarters in Jalingo.
“Beneficiaries are strongly advised to arrive well ahead of schedule.
“Applications or delegations from anyone other than the affected person will not be considered,” Mr. Nyah warned, reiterating that the exercise is strictly restricted to those cleared by the governor’s directive.
The mass reinstatement is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to sanitize the state’s payroll system while ensuring that legitimately employed citizens are not unfairly penalized.The judgment concludes months of legal dispute over the legitimate leadership of Action Alliance and its rightful candidates in Ekiti State.
Political observers say this ruling reaffirms that political parties, not INEC, decide who represents them in elections.
Action Alliance welcomed the judgment, describing it as a victory for internal democracy and the rule of law.
Party officials said this decision will enable the party to focus on campaigning ahead of the Ekiti governorship poll.
