From Godwin Agia, Jalingo

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents’ Chapel in Taraba State has reaffirmed its decision to boycott government activities.

The boycott followed the state government’s deliberate exclusion of NUJ members from covering major events in the state.

The journalists view this exclusion as a calculated attempt to suppress press freedom and evade public scrutiny.

The union members in her WhatsApp platform chats on Saturday, expressed its lack of confidence in the Taraba State Commissioner for Information, Zainab Usman Jalingo, citing incompetence.

The boycott is part of the union’s efforts to hold the government accountable and ensure transparency in governance.
