The Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu NeboBy Etuka Sunday

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu has said that the task of revamping the current sick power sector would require determination and team work.

Nebo who spoke at the occasion of his investiture as Commander of the Order of Nigeria (CON), at the year’s National Honours ceremony inAbuja, revealed that the secret behind his winning streak in public service assignments is anchored on his firm belief in team work.

others, hence as a team player, working with others is the only way to get results.

According to the statement, the Minister acknowledged the enormous task of revamping the sick power sector, liking it with the focused determination of building a cathedral as against just wanting to make a living, he thus enjoined all staff in the power sector to be builders and remained focused on the task, not mere persons eking out a living.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Hon. Minister of State, Hon. Mohammed Wakil described Prof. Nebo as a consummate administrator who has dedicated a substantial part of his life to humanity and service to fatherland.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman, Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), Hon. Waziri Ibrahim described the recipient as a hardworking approachable, amiable and humble person, who is committed to doing things right and doing the right thing at all times.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary, in a vote of thanks, described the award as a call to greater service, just as he observed that posterity is on the side of the Nebo-led power sector as result has shown that with perseverance and focused leadership, all the problems facing the sector will become things of the past.

Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include, Hon. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, Chairman, House Committee on Power, Hon. Patrick Ikhariale who performed the toast, Primate of Anglican Communion, His grace Nicholas Okoh, Charles Oputa a.k.a Area Father and chief executives of the agencies in the power sector.
