The Kwara State chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketing Association (lPMAN) has lost three of its members in an auto crash in llorin, including a chairmanship aspirant in the association’s forthcoming polls.
The Chairman of the association in the State, Alhaji AbdulRasheed Olopade who confirmed this yesterday while speaking with Journalists in Ilorin expressed shock over the accident.
He disclosed that the accident occurred on Saturday night between Kwara State Polytechnic and Alagbede Village when the deceased members were returning from NNPC depot, Oke-Oyi to the State capital.
Olopade said that the Prado Jeep they were travelling in somersaulted which resulted in the instant death of the three members adding that the vehicle got damaged beyond repairs.
He stated names of the three deceased as Alhaji Waheed Abese (chairmanship aspirant), Alhaja Rashidat Gada and Alhaji lsiaq Bola-Taiwo.
Olopade described the demise of his members as a great loss to the association in view of their invaluable contributions to the development of the association.
The IPMAN Chairman said the vacuum created by their death will be difficult to fill, praying God to grant them eternal rest.
“The three deceased members were the nucleus of the association’s activities. It will be difficult to forget them because their death is a big loss to Kwara IPMAN”.
As a result of the death of IPMAN members, loading of fuel at the NNPC depot, Oke-Oyi,Kwara State was suspended on Monday as a mark of mourning the departed IPMAN members.
The Tanker Drivers Association in Kwara state also deserted their offices as a demonstration of sympathy for the dead IPMAN members.
