Heavy thunder and lightning yesterday struck and killed a pregnant woman and a barber in Gboko local government of Benue state.
A resident of the area Mr. HaanyaAondoakura said the incident happened at the Average Hotel located around St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Gboko west.
According to him, the pregnant woman (names withheld) met her untimely death while she was in the kitchen pounding food, adding that the barber identified as Mr. N Nyajo had just finished attending to a customer and was in the process of closing his shop when he was struck down.
The chairman of Gboko LGA, Mr. NahanZenda, who spoke to newsmen yesterday on phone confirmed the incident, saying that he would see the family of the deceased to commiserate with them on the sad incident.
