A renown Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi who is also the leader of the Tijjaniyya sect stated this yesterday while briefing newsmen in Bauchi over a publication that linked the Tijjaniyyah followers to Jonathan

According to him “We Tijjaniyyah followers we are not in support of all that was written in the publication”

He described it as ‘irresponsible’ and desperate attempts by some politicians that sponsored the advertorial in some national dailies, stressing that “we are not in support of it”.

Spokesman of the Nyass family in Nigeria, Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani Sani Awwalu stated this yesterday while briefing newsmen in Bauchi.

He said “our attention was drawn to the advertorial published in Daily Trust page 18 of Thursday 1st January 2015, by a group called Tijjaniyyah Awareness Initiative with the title: “Mr President We stand by you”, showing the picture of the scholar with President Jonathan, we don’t know the organization and the scholar has no hand in the said publication he was not aware about it’
