Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, has dismissed accusations leveled against him by the General Manager of the Katsina State Transport Authority (KSTA), alleging that Masari while in office as speaker failed to provide any meaningful project in the state, saying Gambo Abdulkadir has merely exposed his ignorance about the workings of the different arms of government.
Masari who responded through a press release issued by his media aide, Mallam Abdu Labaran, maintained that by his comment, the KSTA boss has rather displayed his ignorance on the workings of the various arms of government, stressing that the principal function of the legislature is to make laws in addition to oversight duty to ensure proper execution of government projects.
“Even then, it is on record that no public officer from the southern part of Katsina State has done as much as the former Speaker to assist the people of the area, notably the indigent. For the entire period he was Speaker, he paid the medical bills of indigent people in Malumfashi/Kafur Federal Constituency.
“He also saw to the repair of the Malumfashi-Kafur-Dabai road, which had hitherto become completely unmotorable. In addition, he also built the Salma Dam and a dispensary in Kafur local government area.
Masari challenged Gambo to tell Nigerians what legacy he left after he served in an executive capacity as chairman.
“Let him also tell Katsina people what value he has added to the corporate wellbeing of the KSTA, which he heads as General Manager and runs like his personal property with no thought of accountability.
“Our advice to Gambo Abdulkadir is that he should always look in front of him before he leaps, else he ends up the worse for it in his blind haste to please his paymasters.”
