President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of members of the governing councils of some federal universities and tertiary institutions of learning.
In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Temi Harriman was named as the chairman for Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State.
Other members are:
Adeola Adeogun, Benedict Aguele, Freeman Kasa and
Babangida Alhassan Abdullahi.
Similarly, Robert Mudi Bala will take charge as chairman of Nigerian University of Science and Technology, Abuja.
Members of the governing board includes
Mr. Akinola Fagbemi,
Rakiatou Bagnou,
Alwel Egwurugu and
Femi Osabinu.
For the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassam-Biri, Bayelsa, according to the statement by Ngelale, Bram Baifa has been naked as the chairman.
Other members to serve with him on the board included
Richard Odigbo,
Yomi Johnson, Fatima Owuna and Christy Akpehuan Omoruyi.
Also, Ahmadu Barau Banye has been named as the chairman for Federal University of Health Sciences Kwale, Delta State.
Membership of the board included Aragbaye Oluwatosin Gbolagunte,
Talba Bauchi, Akaninodo Kehinde Adekunle and
Chibuike Ikenga.
Another appointment is that of Habib Mohammed Ibrahim who is in charge as chairman of Federal University of Medical Sciences, Katsina State, with members as
Yau Aisha Abdulkadir,
Shehu Kaka, Ibrahim Umar Abbah and Isijola Rasaki.
In the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi Adamawa State, Rukayyatu Abdulkareem Gurin has emerged as the Chairman with members as
Peter Tanko Dogara,
Amina Ibrahim Ndala,
Owolabi Shamsideen Oseni,
Olufemi Lawson.
The Admirality University, Ibusa, Delta State has
Yusuf Mohammed as chairman and Sani Ndanusa,
Abdul Oroh, Mary Okaba Agbo as well as
Omasan Agbajoh as members.
Others are the Nigerian French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos State which has Labiru Musa Kafur as chairman; National Institute of Nigerian Languages, Aba, Abia State with
Victor O. Ukaogo as chairman; and Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State with Awal Bawa Morike as the chairman
Similarly, Usman Mohammed Shanawa will head the board of Federal University of Medical Sciences, Abeokuta;
Ahmed Wambai is chairman of Nigeria Arabic Language Village, Gamboeu Ngala, Birno State, while Edna Njoku
Is chairman of National Mathematical Centre, Kwali, FCT.
“The President expects that the new members of the governing boards of these institutions will perform their functions effectively and creditably and within the ambits of their statutory responsibilities,” Ngelale said in the statement.
