President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday officially commissioned the newly completed 10.5-kilometre access road network linking the 3,112-unit Renewed Hope City in Karsana West District to Abuja’s main transport arteries.
Tinubu, who represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, revealed that the project directly fulfills an infrastructure-first directive he issued during the housing estate’s groundbreaking ceremony.
The President emphasized that housing initiatives must be backed by accessible roads to be viable, declaring an end to the era of stalled and abandoned capital projects in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The newly constructed Arterial Roads N11, N16, N40, and Special important local street 03 seamlessly connect the mass housing district to the Outer Northern Expressway.
Earlier, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike noted that the rapid completion was driven by the Federal Government’s commitment to prompt payment timelines, which allowed the contractor to deliver ahead of schedule.
He announced that the FCT Administration will expand regional connectivity next week, with the flagging off of the Kaba-Kagini-Zaudna road construction on Wednesday, July 8.
The completion of the 10.5km road project ensures the multi-thousand-unit affordable housing city is instantly livable, accessible, and secure for civil servants and investors.
