A pro-government grassroots group, the Tinubu Youths Vanguard Organization (TYVO), has announced plans to embark on nationwide good governance awareness campaigns across all 774 local government areas, aimed at highlighting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The group also unveiled the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, John Owan Enoh, as its patron during a ceremony held in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of TYVO, Hon. Innocent Egede, said the initiative would involve the establishment of enlightenment desks in public places nationwide to disseminate information on government policies and achievements.
Egede noted that the campaign was necessary to bridge what he described as a knowledge gap among citizens regarding the accomplishments of the current administration.
According to him, President Tinubu’s government has recorded significant strides in areas such as infrastructure development, education, economic growth, and social welfare.
He cited initiatives including the student loan scheme, improvements in road networks, growth in the non-oil sector, and reforms in the industrial and education sectors as key achievements that require wider public awareness.
Egede added that the organization would collaborate with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to harmonize information on government activities and take the message directly to communities, markets, schools, and religious centres.
“We believe many Nigerians are not fully aware of these achievements due to inadequate dissemination. Our goal is to take this information to the grassroots through structured enlightenment campaigns,” he said.
He further explained that the appointment of Enoh as patron was based on his perceived performance in driving reforms within the industrial sector in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Egede said the minister’s efforts in supporting small and medium enterprises, promoting industrial growth, and facilitating access to international markets for Nigerian businesses were commendable.
In his remarks, Enoh expressed appreciation to the group for the honour and pledged continued commitment to advancing the administration’s policies.
He commended TYVO for promoting government achievements, noting that such efforts were vital in countering misinformation and strengthening public confidence.
The minister highlighted recent developments within his ministry, including the implementation of Nigeria’s industrial policy and efforts to transition investment promotion from passive to active engagement.
According to him, these reforms have contributed to increased investment flows, job creation, and expansion of opportunities for small businesses.
Enoh also expressed optimism about expanding trade opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), particularly through improved air cargo corridors to African markets.
He assured the group of his support and encouraged similar initiatives that promote civic awareness and national development.
The TYVO said it expects the minister’s performance and ongoing reforms to serve as a strong mobilization tool in support of the administration’s future political aspirations.
