A former Kebbi state House of Assembly member and former sole administrator of Kaoje local government area of Kebbi state, Hon. Abubakari Umar A.K Ka’oje has admonished the traditional rulers in the country to give their full support in strengthening the security around border areas.
He made this called at the weekend, while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after turbaning him as Talban Yamman Yamusa by the district head of Yamusa, Alhaji Abubakari Abdullahi Ka’oje, adding that it is now the responsibilities of the traditional rulers, most especially those living near the border areas, to assist the government in combatting the insecurity challenges.
‘’We, the traditional holders, also have role to play in curtailing the persistent insecurity in some parts of the North, as government and security operatives cannot do it alone; we have to wake up and fight this menace together before it escalates’’ he said.
He adviced all the title holders to use their status in developing Nigeria’s economy while assuring the people and the district head that he is ready to work with the his cabinet members in order to move the society forward and promote unity among them.
Speaking early, the District Head of Yamusa, Alhaji Abdullahi called on the people to live in peace with one another irrespective of their religion and ethnic differences, while describing the Hon. Umar Kaoje title as well-deserved.
