Tsav bemoans massive corruption across states

Social crusader and former Lagos State Police Commissioner, Alh. Abubakar Tsav has frowned at the massive looting of state funds by governors and their aides.
Tsav made the lamentation against the backdrop of the arrest of the Private Principal Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom, Steven Amase and former Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Emmanuel Manger on allegations of diverting funds amounting to 4.7 billion naira meant for construction of Imande Akpu-Gbajimba Road.
The erstwhile Police Commissioner who had written a petition to anti-graft bodies alleging corrupt practices on the road contract, said he has been vindicated for whatever he has written against the Ortom government, noting that he had also, raised alarm over another 23 billion naira security votes that was misappropriated.
“The Governor is running the State like a private property. Buhari is fighting corruption alone while the states are corrupt. The Governor is business traveling every time to China. Nobody can intimidate or harass me. I will continue to talk till I die. Let them come and arrest me. All individuals in this country including former governors are prisoners of parole. They are only waiting for time to be convicted. The law should be like a hot iron and no one should be spared”, Tsav insisted.
Responding to the arrest of Governor Ortom’s personal aide, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Terver Akase said his boss believes in the rule of law, saying for this reason, anytime any of his aide is accused of any fraudulent act, he does not shield him from investigation and prosecution.
According to him, the allegation against the Governor’s aide is mere accusation whose onus lies on the accuser to prove beyond reasonable doubts, maintaining that no appointee of the Governor has been convicted since inception of the administration.
