U-20 AFCON Triumph: Ghana’s President, officials congratulate Black Satellites

The president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo among other dignitaries took to social media to congratulate the Black Satellites for their fourth U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON victory after beating Uganda’s U-20 side 2-0 to be crowned Africa Champions.
President Nana Addo on his official Twitter thanked the the team for making Ghana proud on her birthday. “Congratulations to the Black Satellites for winning Ghana’s 4th AFCON U-20 trophy. Thoroughly deserved victory, and they’ve made Mother Ghana proud. What a way to celebrate our 64th Independence Anniversary.”-he tweeted.
He stated that his office was prepared to meet the team at the Jubilee House to celebrate the victory. “Kudos to the team, and I look forward to receiving the playing, technical and management teams to Jubilee House.”
Vice President of the country, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also congratulated the team for giving Ghanaians a befitting Independence Day gift . “Congratulations to Black Satellites of Ghana for winning the 2021 Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament. You have given Ghana a perfect gift to commemorate our Independence Day. We are proud of you”, he tweeted.
Captain of the Senior National team, the Black Stars and Swansea City player, Andre Dede Ayew added his voice to congratulate the team.
“Congratulations boys. Africa u20 champions. You have made the nation proud!10 years later and it’s coming home. May Allah bless you all and bless you with a great future and don’t stop it’s just the beginning. PROUD NATION”- he tweeted on his official account.
Former Captain of Ghana, Stephen Appiah tweeted “Congratulations Black Satellites for making Ghana proud. This is the perfect Independence Day gift”.
Coach of the Local Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko tweeted “Congratulations guys, Ghanaians are proud of you.”
The team will depart from Nouakchott this morning and are expected to arrive in Accra at 4pm Sunday.
Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif and officials of the Ghana Football Association will meet them at the Kotoka International Airport to welcome them back home.
