Uba Sani Meets Minister of Works David Umahi to Accelerate Completion of Abuja–Kaduna Expressway

In a demonstration of proactive leadership and effective collaboration between government agencies, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, met with the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, CON, on Friday to conduct a thorough review of the Abuja–Kaduna–Abuja Expressway project.

The meeting, held in Abuja, showcased Governor Uba Sani’s results-oriented leadership style and his strong commitment to ensuring the timely completion of one of Nigeria’s most crucial road corridors.

Discussions focused on expediting the completion of the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna segment, which serves as a vital route for millions of Nigerians who rely on this road for mobility, trade, and social connectivity.

The Governor emphasized that the expressway has national significance, describing it as a “national artery” essential for the socio-economic integration of the entire northern region.

Governor Uba Sani reiterated that the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway is a flagship part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

This aligns with the administration’s vision of modernizing infrastructure and enhancing economic competitiveness. “This expressway is not just a roadway; it is an economic corridor that connects people, markets, and opportunities across northern Nigeria and beyond,” he stated.

In response, Senator Umahi praised Governor Uba Sani for his constructive engagement and consistent advocacy on behalf of the people of Kaduna State.

He assured that the Federal Government is committed to delivering the project in record time, revealing that contractors have been instructed to adopt double shifts to speed up progress without compromising quality.

The Minister further assured that the innovative use of durable concrete pavement technology would ensure long-term sustainability and reduce maintenance costs. Contractors on-site have committed to intensifying work, especially on the Jere–Kaduna corridor, where progress will be closely monitored.

The Kaduna State Government pledged to maintain collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure coordinated efforts in addressing local challenges that may affect implementation.

Concluding the meeting, Governor Uba Sani expressed that the expressway will symbolize renewed hope, national unity, and sustainable development, reinforcing the joint determination of both the Federal and State Governments to deliver infrastructure that enhances lives and promotes national growth.
