UNICEF, CSACEFA re-integrates 300 pupils into formal education in Jigawa

The United Nations Children’s Funds in collaboration with Jigawa state ministry of women affairs through Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) integrated 300 girls and less privileged girls into formal education in the state.
This was announced by the state program officer of CSACEFA comrade Mustapha Yakubu Madobi while distributing the school materials to 300 children on Monday at Fagoji Primary School Dutse.
He explained that, this is part of the Jigawa state ministry of women affairs efforts to reduce under aged girls hawking and child abuse through street begging and to ensure education for all.
Comrade Madobi who said the beneficiaries are under 14 years old, added that the CSACEFA also trained 150 girls on local business to reduce hardship and support their education.
He said, the Almajiris beneficiaries were selected from Tsangaya schools while the girls are selected from various communities in the state.
The project officer identified the schools materials as schools uniforms, shoes, bags, books, pencils among many other schools materials.
He then, commended UNICEF, state ministry of women affairs for the support, urging the parents and guidance of the beneficiaries to cooperate for better future of their children.
While making his speech as representative of Tsangayas and parents of the beneficiaries, Alaramma Idris Sulaiman appreciated the efforts and assured their support and cooperation for the success of the program.
Also Malam Nasidi Abubakar Garba the representative of benefitted communities commended UNICEF and state ministry of women affairs and promised to monitor the beneficiaries to ensure the goals is achieved.
