
Vietnam’s ambassador hails Nigeria’s macroeconomic stability

The ambassador of Vietnam in Nigeria, Buiquoc Hung says Nigeria is recording very good achievements in terms of macroeconomic stability which will enhance trade and other relationships between the two countries.
Ambassador Hung spoke when he paid a courtesy visit on the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda on Thursday in Abuja.
He said Nigeria and Vietnam share a lot in common, especially their the political system, history, economy and a pool of young population.
“Our strategic positions in our regions in Southeast Asia and West Africa. The President is taking lead in terms of West Africa and I also want to congratulate the national chairman of the party on the achievements by the Nigerian government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the leadership of APC.
“Nigeria is recording very good achievements in terms of macroeconomic stability in terms of stabilising local currency naira and in terms of upgrading investment. Nigeria has been gaining a lot in the last few years.
“We are happy about the future of APC in the coming election because next January 2027, there will be an election of the president and assembly members. We hope that APC successfully wins the election. I thank you, your Excellency, for welcoming us this morning”.
Responding, the National Chairman of APC, Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda noted that Nigeria and Vietnam have been good friends, sharing mutual concerns, which could be taken forward to promote relationship in agriculture and ICT development.
“The biggest takeaway is the lessons we are learning from Vietnam of migrating from third world country to a developing country. The roadmap is to ensure that by 2030, the middle income countries become stable.”
He said Nigeria’s strategic plan is to build a strong manpower base, while government provides infrastructure.
Yilwatda said among the high-end infrastructure projects are the strategic Sokoto-Badagry and Lagos-Calabar highways and the gas pipelines running from Warri to Kano and from Lagos to Maradi in Niger Republic.
