The President, Nigeria Vovinam Vietvodao Federation (NVVF), Adelusi Ojo Oluwadare, has called on the National Sports Commission (NSC) to formally recognize and enlist Vovinam Vietvodao as an affiliate sport within Nigeria’s national sporting framework.

Speaking during a media chat with the NVVF Media, the President emphasized the untapped potential of Vovinam Vietvodao—a dynamic martial art and globally recognized sport—highlighting that its inclusion and adequate support could significantly enhance Nigeria’s medal prospects in both local and international competitions.

He also urged Directors of Sports in all 36 states and the FCT to prioritize the development and promotion of the sport. According to him, “Vovinam Vietvodao is a multiple-medal event. With 52 gold, 52 silver, and 104 bronze medals up for grabs, no serious sporting state can afford to overlook its value.
