From: Bashir Rabe Mani, Sokoto
Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto) has commended the efforts of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), particularly the Sokoto State chapter, which has been in existence for two decades, for their vital role in safeguarding public health.
This was contained in a statement signed by Bashir Abubakar, Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Sen. Wamakko, issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Tuesday.
He made the remarks when the members of the Council, led by its Chairman, Pharmacist Aminu Ahmad Biambo, paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Gawon Nama, Sokoto.
Sen. Wamakko described the pharmacy profession as essential to healthcare delivery, noting its critical role in ensuring the safe dispensing, regulation, and rational use of medicines.
He urged the Association to sustain its commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, and pharmacovigilance.
The Senator further assured the Society of his continued support in promoting public enlightenment on the dangers of illicit drug use, self-medication, and the circulation of counterfeit and substandard medicines.
