Kano State government has pledged to revive the decaying infrastructure and lost glory of the local government council in the State.
This is contained in a statement by Aminu Bello Sani, Public Relations Officer, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs on Wednesday.
The statement said the Deputy Governor, who is the Commissioner Ministry For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, made the pledge on Tuesday during a meeting with the 44 local government council Chairmen in his office.
Comrade Gwarzo said being the closest authority to the people, the local government deserve to be given priority attention as it positively touches the lives of rural people.
The Commissioner urged the local government Chairmen to be up and doing to provide relief and basic services despite all the burden to reduce the burden of high cost of living among their teeming populace.
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo directed the council to take care of mentally derailed moving around naked in their respective local government areas.
Earlier, the permanent secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussain commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusif for appointing well experienced and seasoned local government administrator to manage the ministry.
Also, speaking the ALGON Chairman Alhaji Baffa Muhammad Takai promised to work diligently to meet the yearning and aspiration of incumbent administration.
