We’re set for VEX robotic world championship 2025 in Texas — Glisten International Academy

Glisten International Academy, has revealed its readiness for the VEX robotic world championship 2025 in Dallas, Texas.

Thr Executive Director of the school, Engineer Abba Saidu, said he is confident the school will advance beyond initial matches into the top 20 qualifiers in each category.

He said the preparation for the programme which spans over six months is rigorous and time consuming for students and couches.

He said the team, comprising of  over 20 students were trained  in areas of designing, programming and constructing.

He said the team will compete alongside other students from 60 countries across the globe.

He said the event which will take place on  May 6–14, will showcase top robotics teams comprising of 37000 students from  around the world.

He said “the school will procure kits, registering teams, training coaches, attending conferences, and building and refining robots through multiple prototypes.

“This year, Glisten International Academy will field three teams across different age categories: elementary (ages 8–12), middle school (ages 11–13), and high school (ages 13–18), competing in VEX IQ and VEX V5 categories.

“The challenges of competing on the world stage with limited resources compared to teams supported by major tech companies is not easy. But we know that the team is improving. We are happy with all that we have achieved and many more that we will achieve.”

He said their preparation includes leveraging local expertise and collaborative efforts while adhering to international standards in robotics equipment.

Speaking further, he said the event is similar to Olympic Games, which gives his team opportunity to showcase nigeria,  its products and local delicacies.

On his part, the acting DG of Miraisha Foundation, Bilyaminu Yunusa said, “the unveiling of Team Nigeria Robot! is not just a celebration of technological innovation; it is a powerful testament to the brilliance, resilience, and boundless potential of our young minds.

“Today, we are not only witnessing a groundbreaking achievement in   robotics but also reaffirming our collective commitment to nurturing the next generation of Nigerian innovators. Team Nigeria, composed of exceptional students from Glisten International Academy, is once again poised to raise our nation’s flag high as they prepare to compete at the world’s largest Robotics Championship in Dallas, Texas, USA. This marks the third consecutive time these talented students will represent Nigeria on the global stage—a testament to their relentless hard work, dedication, and world-class expertise in STEM and Robotics.
