Why I’m in Abia guber race – APGA candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant in Abia state, Chikwe Udensi, has explained that he is in the guber race to rescue the state from its present state of infrastructural decay.

Speaking to journalists in the APGA headquarters in Abuja, when he came to submit his expression of interest and governorship nomination forms, Udensi lamented that despite over five billion naira which the state government collects from the federation account every month, there is nothing to show for it.

Udensi, who was accompanied by hundreds of supporters to the APGA office, said if he is elected Abia Governor in 2015, he will focus on infrastructural development of the state, regretting that both Umuahia and Aba cities have nothing befitting as the major towns of the state.

He said the bad leadership of the state government has made Abia state to rank as the least in the country in terms of development backwardness, even as he vowed to turn things around if elected.

Udensi, who pointed out that APGA remains an Igbo party, called on the people of the south east to rally round the party to ensure that it become the most formidable platform in the zone.

He commended the leadership of the party for finding him worthy to fly their flag in Abia state in 2015, even as he promised to justify the confidence they have in him when he becomes the governor of Abia state.

While assuring the people of the state that he remains the new face of change being desired by Abia state, Udensi pointed out that his experiences as the National Secretary of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and as a consultant to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) are testimonies of his ability to transform the state.

Earlier speaking, the South East National Vice Chairman of the party, said the party will always field candidates who can deliver efficient and effective services to the people.

Meanwhile, the expression of interest form for APGA is two million naira, while the governorship nomination form is placed at ten million naira by the party.
