Why Sallah celebration was low key in Kaduna-Investigation

The Eid-El-Fitri celebration in Kaduna state yesterday was devoid of the pomp and pageantry usually associated with it, ,despite that it was the first day that Muslims unwind after going through the rigours of observing the month-long Ramadan fasting.
Mmany faithful preferred to have low key celebration.
Investigation by our reporter revealed that, the low keyed celebration was attributed to the harsh economic climate in the country, with prices of food stuffs in the market skyrocketing by the day.
Investigation further revealed that prices of essential items and commodities such as rice, beans, beef, chicken, vegetable oil, seasoning, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, Irish potatoes and pepper which should have made the festivity bam, are unreasonably far above the reach of the common man and woman, except onions which is still reasonably affordable this time of the year.
Major streets in the state capital such as the Kaduna Ahamadu Bello Way, Independence Way, Isa kaita Road and kachia Road were virtually empty as faithful Muslims decided to stay indoors after the Eid prayers.
A business man, Mallam Ibtahim Yunusa said it is a difficult Sallah for him because unlike the previous one, there is low patronage from customers
The celebration got its roots right from the early days of Islam as Prophet Muhammadu (SAW), who entrenched the culture usually shares the spirit of the day with the less privileged members of the society and urged all his companions to be extra magnanimous to the less privileged.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state Government has beefed up intimidating security to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order during the holidays. All Eid praying ground visited by this correspondent witnessed large presence of operatives
