Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that he had never earned a single point against the great Jurgen Kloop before Monday night.
Hasenhuttl’s Southampton earned a shock 1-0 win over Liverpool to take sixth place with four points off the top of the league.
But not many people expected the 56-year-old Hasenhuttl to break down in tears after the final whistle.
“It says everything and says we had an unbelievable mentality today (Monday), even more than they have,” he said.
“We never give up and try to the end to turn things around. We showed it is possible to win against such teams and we did it in a fantastic way. We needed to have a perfect evening and it was one.
