An unknown young woman has been murdered in Makurdi, Benue State capital with her body wrapped in a bedsheet, kept in sack and dumped at a refuse site.
Our correspondent gathered that the police was alerted after residents discovered her body at a refuse site in Nyiman area of Makurdi.
It was lesrnt that her killers wrapped her body in a white bed sheet, concealed it in a bag and dumped her by a refuse site around Iorapuu Adai street Nyiman Hudco quarters on Sunday, January 28, 2020.
Speaking to our correspondent in Makurdi, a reliable police source said they received report that a young woman was killed and her body was dumped at a refuse site.
The source said, “Yes we got information that a young lady was killed and her body was seen. We don’t know what happened and we didn’t see any trace of violence on her body; no marks, no wound or blood.
“They just tied her body in a white bed sheet, put her in a sack and dumped her at a refuse site at Nyiman layout of Makurdi
“The police is still investigating to unravel what actually happened. There is suspicions that she may have died in a hotel because the bed sheet looks like the ones used in a hotel,” the source said.
He said the body was removed and deposited at at the Federal Medical Center mortuary.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Benue state command, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident.
Anene who noted that there is no detail regarding her death yet said “ for now there is no information yet but we believe we will get detail, dig into it and find out what actually happened”.
