Women receive empowerment via Breakforth

Breakforth, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), based in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has distributed empowerment items to some women and girls in the Territory, so as to help mitigate risk of their vulnerability in the society.
Some of the items donated include; four grinding machines, one sewing machine, four bags of flour and a weaving machine, to enable the beneficiaries start a small-scale business and generate income for themselves.
Donating the items to the beneficiaries in Abuja, the national coordinator of the organisation, Mr. Osewe Daniels, disclosed that the NGO, through its capacity building, reorientation and economic empowerment programmes, has transformed the lives of many women and girls in various communities.
Daniels, who noted the need to empower the segment of the society that are worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, explained that the organisation’s work and projects are centered around women development, girl-child education and curbing the menace of violence against women.
He therefore called on stakeholders to partner with the organisation, stressing that the true test of morality in any society is reflected on how it treats its women.
One of the beneficiaries, who simply identified herself as Rukayat, a fashion designer, while in tears expressed joy over the guesture.
She stated that in the society today, women need to have something to do to assist the family.
