He said “Let the aspirants be working hard, but whereby any of them emerges from any of the major political parties, let others support them , irrespective of their political party”

Obiechina  made this known to journalists at the Greater Nigeria Conference (GNC) organised by an Igbo think thank, Nzuuko Umunna ,in Abuja recently .

He also ustify the demand that Nigeria’s next president comes from SE in 2023 general elections, while opposing the idea of coming together of all the aspirants from the zone to support one person.

“There is no need for all the South East aspirants to come together and choose one person. What is important is it the APC zones their presidency to the SE, whether  ten people aspire or not, the people will make a choice, likewise the PDP and the All Progressives Ground Alliance (APGA),.

“If each of the key political parties chooses a presidential candate from SE, we go for that. The more opportunity  for people to choose who they want the better for everyone.”
