The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon Adamu Mustapha Danze, has commended the leadership of the Yoruba community in Zuba for organising Yoruba Youth Carnival for the sake of unity in the Area.
Danze gave the commendation while addressing the Yoruba people at Ikwa junction during the 2nd annual Youth carnival in Zuba, urging the Yoruba to continue sustaining their good relationship among themselves.
He said he would continue to be part of Yoruba community as well contribute his quota to the of wellbeing of Yorubas in the area.
The chairman pleaded with Yorubas to always support his administration for the sake of development in Zuba community
Also speaking, the Oba of Yoruba community in the FCT, Oba (Dr) Salau urged Yoruba people to continue to live together in peace for the overall development of Yoruba community in the territory, and called for co-operation among Yorubas at all times.
He advised the Yoruba to speak with one voice in anywhere they found themselves, urging them to shun any division.
Salau appealed to the minister of FCT, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello to relate with genuine Yoruba community in the territory, noting that there was nothing like Yoruba Community Council in Abuja.
On his part, the sponsor of Yoruba Youth Carnival in Zuba, Chief (Dr)
Wasiu Tunwase, who is also the Otunba of Yoruba Community in the FCT, he said carnival aimed at bringing progress and unity to Yoruba Community in Zuba and FCT at large.
He warned Yoruba Youth against engaging themselves in any violence, while advising them to be obedient to the constituted authorities always in order to be useful in the society.
He charged the Obas of Yoruba communities in the FCT to deem it necessary to gear towards the development of their people at their various communities.
He said he would continue to join hands with the Oba of FCT and other obas to move the Yoruba community to a greater height in the territory, noting that Yorubas are peace-loving people.
Otunba, who is the Special Adviser to the Chairman of Gwagwalada on Inter-Governmental Affairs, lauded the Chairman for the steps being put in place to repair the dilapidated roads in Zuba, describing the Chairman as a Messiah of Gwagwalada.
Not left out, oba of Yoruba community in Zuba, Oba (Alhaji) Odunmbaku, advised the Yoruba to be their brothers’ keeper.
Odunmbaku, however, appealed to the government of the day to carry the Yorubas along in the affairs of things in the territory.
