APC-vs-PDPFrom Raji Bello, Sokoto

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a governorship aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, Hon. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau, said the party is determined to unseat the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Shehu who is the Chairman, House Committee on ICT, while declaring his intention to vie for the party governorship ticket, said he accepted to serve the people so as to reverse what he described as ‘misgovernance’ by the APC- led government in the state.

Speaking to supporters in Gusau on Monday, the lawmaker lamented that the incumbent administration has failed in all ramifications, hence the need to be voted out in the forthcoming elections.

Shehu also decried the incessant security challenges in the state and called on the people to stand up for a change in 2015.

“The present government has failed the good people of Zamfara. The lives of our rural dwellers are in danger. Our cattles are being rustled away by sponsored intruders.

“I kept saying that if you have headache and the drugs you are taking is not effective, the best option is to change to another drug. It is for Zamfara people to change to PDP”, he explained.

The aspirant also presented no fewer than one hundred and forty-seven motorcycles to the party ward chairmen in the fourteen local government areas and cars to zonal coordinator of his campaign team.

In his remarks, the PDP chairman in the state, Alhaji Hassan Nasiha, said the party was determined to wrestle power from the APC-led government in a peaceful manner devoid of violence.

Also speaking, the Chairman, House Committee on Banking, Hon. John Ohiaeri, described the aspirant as a trusted and visionary leader who would transform the state for better.
