The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Zamfara State chapter has declared Hamza Musa Maibulawus as unopposed winner of the gubernatorial primary election been conducted thereby becoming a sole candidate to contest for the seat of governor come 2027 elections.
Making declaration at the SDP headquarters Gusau Tuesday evening, the Electoral Officer who also doubles as Returning Officer, Bello Hussain Gusau, who was assigned by the national headquarters, said the election was conducted in full compliance with party constitution, INEC guidelines and Electoral Act.
Hussaini Gusau further informed that, despite that the successful aspirant contested unopposed, it has been directed by the national body of the SDP, that the primary election must hold, which according to him, the exercise was duly observed across the 147 wards, 14 local government areas and at the state level to emerged winner.
According to the results been presented by the Electoral Officer, Hamza Musa Maibulawus has emerged winner with the total votes 36,556 cast across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara State to become the party’s flag bearer who will join the gubernatorial race in the state on the platform of the SDP come 2027.
“I Bello Hussaini Gusau, being the Chairman Electoral Committee for Zamfara State chapter Social Democratic Party (SDP), base on the power vested on me by the national leadership of the party, that Hamza Musa Maibulawus, having satisfied all the requirements of the law as provided by the constitution of the SDP and scored the highest peoples votes in the primary election, he is hereby returned and declared the winner”, Hussaini Gusau has declared.
