Rep. Aminu Jaji (APC-Zamfara) has welcomed Mallam Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the 2023 Zamfara governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kabir-Sani defected alongside members of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ forum.

Thousands of their supporters also moved to the APC through the Jajiyya APC political movement, led by Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka.

They formally announced their switch to APC after a meeting with Jaji at his residence in Gusau, bringing along numerous members from both AAC and PDP.

Explaining their decision, Kabir-Sani said they joined the APC under the Jaji Political Movement due to their confidence in Jaji’s performance and his contributions to the development of Zamfara and his constituency.

Similarly, Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP State House of Assembly candidates’ forum, stated that they chose the APC because it remains the dominant political party in Zamfara.

“We had meaningful discussions with Hon. Aminu Jaji and reached a mutual understanding, leading to our decision to join APC. We are committed to staying and working for the progress of our state,” Labbo-Anka said.

Jaji, who chairs the House Committee on Ecological Fund, commended the defectors for their decision, calling it a positive development for the APC in both Zamfara and Nigeria.

He assured them of fair treatment and collaboration to strengthen the party’s presence in the state. He also expressed confidence that the experience and influence of the defectors, particularly their leaders, would further enhance the Jajiyya movement and the APC’s overall strength.

“I encourage you all to remain with the APC and actively contribute your efforts toward the party’s progress,” Jaji stated.

Earlier, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, the State Chairman of the APC-Jajiyya movement, described the group as a formidable political force with strong structures across all 14 local government areas of the state.

He assured the new members of full integration into the party’s activities without discrimination and urged them to remain dedicated to promoting unity, peace, and stability within the APC.
